SeedMoney Fundraiser

Rows for the Hungry is a donation farm-garden raising fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs for local food banks, soup kitchens, and training programs seeking to end the cycle of poverty and hunger. We provide these agencies with fresh produce that is often not available or is cost-prohibitive to their clients. This is our fourth year of operation. Our volunteers grow and tend to the crops from seed to harvest and maintain the plot year-round.

In 2021, despite the setback of two significant floods in the fields, we raised over 11,500 pounds of food and helped feed approximately 2000 people.  Our clients include Elijah's Promise who use our food in their soup kitchen, Meals on Wheels program and in their culinary school which teaches marketable cooking skills to underserved individuals. We also provide produce for Replenish (Middlesex County Emergency Food Network) who distribute our food in weekly food pantry pick-ups and direct individual pick-ups. In addition, we make frequent one-time donations to local churches and organizations.

All of our tools, equipment, and supplies such as seed, fertilizer and mulch are donated or purchased with money from our fundraising efforts. This year we hope to expand the garden's size to 1.5 acres allowing us to greatly increase our output and the number of agencies and food insecure individuals and families we service. This expansion will require a substantial monetary investment for new/additional fencing and increase the cost for basic operational supplies.

A bountiful harvest from the Rows for the Hungry!
